ComstockMarKetPlace is an adult humor greeeting card company. All submissions - artists, writers and photographer should fall into that category. We are not looking for pretty flowers, cute puppies & cats or kids or beautiful landscapes. We are looking for funny, adult humor cartoons drawings and verses, hot men and women (professional photos) for all our lines - Krack Ups, Naughty Nudes and BoyTown News - our premier gay line.

Please do not send original artwork. We will look at any format of samples - good quality colour photocopies, photographs, slides, and Polaroids, as well as digital submissions on CD-ROM. Submissions may be sent via email or snail mail. Please keep the file sizes small. While we strive to answer all email submissions, if you do not receive a response, it means we did not accept your ideas. If you want submissions returned, send via snail mail with a SASE.

Greeting card copy/ideas are best submitted on a 3 x 5 index card. If you have a concept (idea for the image) for the copy, please include it. Copy that is accompanied by a concept image has the best chance of being accepted than one without. Ideas may also be submitted on any type of paper format or by email.

Everything is returned by mail after consideration, so please include a stamped addressed envelope (SASE) with your work, and, if needed, a protective wallet for the safe return of your work. All work submitted without a SASE will be disgarded after 30 days. If you submit via email, and email will be sent back to you with a response. DO NOT SEND ATTACHMENTS or REFER US to another site.

Please allow 8 - 10 weeks for response.

GAGLINES: Payment for gaglines is $50.00 per idea. Payment is made AFTER a signed AFFIDAVIT OF ORIGINALITY is Writers receive credit on the back of the card and samples of said card.

ARTWORK: We negotiate the fee for each ARTIST separately. The fee will be to obtain the world-wide reproduction rights of the design. This lasts usually from the date of publication until the design is discontinued. All artists are required to sign a contract stating rate/fee and guidelines of terms, an AFFIDAVIT OF ORIGINALITY, receives credit on back of cards, and samples upon publication.

We are always looking for these types of cards year round. REMEMBER: Cards must not be sappy...middle-of-the-road humor to wildly risque.

We publish cards in a only one size - 5" x 7". You may submit in any size, but keep in mind they will be printed in a 5" x 7" format. Horizontal cards are accepted but not recommended.

When submitting artwork, please keep in mind that jokes/one-liner images do not make the best greeting cards. When designing a concept for a greeting card, keep in mind it must be directional - from someone to someone - and reflect a sentiment - birthday, get well, love, divorce. While "slam" cards are often funny, they do not make good sellers.

Currently, we are accepting photos for our Naughty Nudes/BoyTown News lines - hot men and women - preferably tasteful nudes. All photos submitted must be professionally done; have a signed model release and available digitially.

ComstockMarketPlace is best known for adult humor cards - ranging from mildly risque to rude and crude. Lines must not be jokes, but directional - from someone to someone. All everyday concepts are acceptable. While we do have holidays - specifically Christmas and Valentines - other holidays may be considered.
